Event Information :Gaumukh(3889m) The source of river Bhagirathi is also considered the true source of river Ganga. The area is peaceful and surreal, and offers stunning views of Mt. Shivling and the Bhagirathi group of mountains, and can be reached after an 18 km trek from Gangotri.

Tapovan (4300m) is an area beyond Gaumukh consisting of a beautiful meadow, at the feet of Mt. Shivling for those in need of peace and adventure, a further 5 Kms from Gaumukh.

Itinerary:

29-Sept-12- Report at the meeting point in Delhi Meet @ 10.00 am (Exact location to be finalized)

29-Sept-12- Delhi to Haridwar/ RishiKesh by Bus & Night stay.

30-Sept-12- Haridwar/ Rishikesh to Gangotri by Bus & Acclimatization & overnight stay at Gangotri.

01-Oct-12- Gangotri (3048 mts/10000 ft) - Bhojbasa (3792 mts/12440 ft)

Trek - 14 km, Duration- 5-7 Hrs, Camping & Stay @ Bhojbasa

02-Oct-12- Bhojbasa - Gomukh (3890 mts/12760 ft) - Tapovan (4463 mts / 14640 ft)

Trek - 10 km (Approx.), Duration - 5-7 hrs, Camping & Stay @ Tapovan.
03-Oct-12- Tapovan - Meru Glacier - Base Camp - Meru Peak - Tapovan
Trek - 7 km, Duration - 5-7 hrs, Camping & Stay @ Tapovan.
04-Oct-12- Tapovan (4463 mts / 14640 ft) to Gangotri (3048 mts/10000 ft)

Trek - 20 km Down Hill (Approx.), Duration - 7 hrs, Camping & Stay @ Gangotri.

05-Oct-12- Gangotri to Rishikesh - By Bus

06-Oct-12- Rishikesh - White water Rafting or Reserve half day.

06-Oct-12 - Return Back to Delhi by Bus @ 7.00 pm.
